                                       Emerson Presentation Notes Day 3&4
On one of the other presentations a classmate said that Emerson is trying to get it thought or head that  it's ok to be different. And don't be like everyone else just because you feel like you have to fit in and try to put yourself in a position that you are not. Also to let people know the real you. And there is a reason why we were all born to be different
                                        Emerson's Presentations Day 2

In one of the presentations I got off that we are who we are and no one can change that especially other people around us. And there is a reason why we were born to be different.

                                                 Emerson Presentation Day 1
The first presentation was of Joseph and David doing a card trick using quotes from Emerson's story. Joseph and David used what they liked to do and put it in the presentation. I thought that their presentation was one of a kind especially since this involved card tricks and Emerson. And I feel that what i got off their presentation was that to be yourself.

The second presentation what i got off it was you are you and no one can be who your are. Nobody in this world can be you or look like you or have your personality.

The third presentation what I got off is that Emerson is trying to tell us is to be original and don't be a follower. Nowadays that there is social media, and all these challenges go on and most people do it just to fit in. Don't be a follower.

The fourth presentation was Emerson's way of telling us to be proud of who we are and that you are you and no one can change that but overall we are all amazing in different ways.
                                                               My Emerson
In my group we are planning to make a poster with Emerson's quotes. The poster will have pictures of the quotes and next to it, it will have a translation of what we think the quote means to us and what we think it means to Emerson. Also on how we think Emerson is trying to say to his readers.

                                     An Earth Shattering Fart
My response to the "A Sound of Thunder"  is that at first i didn't find anything interesting about it. But as soon as I kept on reading I noticed that in the story there was a time machine and I thought that it was interesting that the people could go in time machines and kill dinosaurs. The story kept on getting better and better. I still haven't finished everything but I kinda have an idea in towards what way is the story going.

                                                        Emerson said it

  • "Without abolishing our arms, magazines, commissaries, and carriages, until, in imitation of the Roman custom, the soldier should receive his supply of corn, grind it in his hand-mill, and bake his bread himself."
  • "The foolish face of praise"
  • "They do not seem to me to be such; but if I am the Devil's child, I will live then from the Devil"
  • "But these impulses may be from below, not from above."
  • 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.'
                                                     Emerson for the Young Buck
Reading "Self Reliance" I have learned a lot especially from Emerson he has a lot to say and has a different way of thinking. I think the way he expresses things make you focus more on what he is talking about. Some of the points he makes in the story make sense like"oh I know what you are talking about", but then there are some of those points he makes like what the fuck is he talking about. I like the fact that the topics he talks about he puts in so much thoughts into what he is thinking about.
